We have had very sunny days which has been good for walking and sight seeing. Its been nice to stroll around taking pictures and looking into the many shops selling things like pastries, masks, clothing, glass and jewellery. In the lead up to Easter they celebrated Palm Sunday which was interesting to see how they do it in Italy. Rain started on the Saturday afternoon and by Sunday the wind was becoming very cold. I don't know how the people stayed out for as long as they did in the rain carrying their palms. Here Good Friday is not a holiday but Easter Monday is.
Today however the rain took a change and as we walked to the Ca'Rezzonico museum I noticed that something white was hitting the ground but when I looked down I couldn't see anything. Suddenly Cliff said its snowing and sure enough i looked up and could see it falling very lightly. We had to walk carefully as it was turning to ice. I took a picture from the first floor of the museum as the snow was falling harder. It was like a magical wonderland outside but bitterly cold. When we arrived back at the apartment there was still some on the shelf outside the window.
We keep being surprised by what Venice has shown us in this short time. We feel very luckily to have 2 weeks here on the island as most people we talk to are only here for a couple of days.
